Trips from the last few months.

These are just some pictures from the last couple of trips we took in May and June. May was Disneyland for Mothers Day. June was the Grand Canyon. Jeffrey Harrison our good friend went with us.

Infant Study

This is the onesie she got for helping.

Today Kori and I went to UNLV for her to participate in an infant study. When I was approached about participating in this I jumped at the chance. They were going to be testing her learning capabilities, musical capabilities, and how intelligent she is. I was very interested, and thought it would be fun.
So first they just watched her play with various toys they had there. Blocks and things like that. Then they showed her a couple of videos to see how she learned from them, and how well she followed along with them. Then she played again.
The results were very interesting. She is highly intelligent! They said that for a typical nine month old she is very very advanced! She learns things quickly and remembers them well. I already knew that one, all I have to do is show her something once or twice, and she can do it. And, she is very musically inclined. She knows how to pick out the beat of a song already! That's a cool thing....seeing as how I still have trouble keeping a beat, and I can read music! LOL

It was a lot of fun for both of us to participate in this study. They gave her a cute little onesie at the end, to thank her for participating. I couldn't get any pictures of her during the actual tests, but, I did snap a couple of her just playing afterward.

Koris First Trip to Disneyland, April 2009

Tinkerbell flew into our hands for this picture.
The very first character she met was Mickey Mouse!
We got to go to a special character greeting with Chip and Dale! They loved her and wouldn't let us leave. These are just a few of the many pictures they got of them together.

Matt and I always have to have pictures taken in front of Mickey and Walt and the Castle. Now we get to share that family tradition with our children.

She LOVED Winnie the Pooh!

In April we went to our favorite place in the world, DISNEYLAND! It was Koris first time there. Going was a dream come true for both Matthew and Myself. For years we would be in Disneyland and see babies, and children and would talk about taking our own kids one day.
This trip was just like we imagined it! We mixed it with a work trip for Matt, but it was still great! Kori rode on a lot of rides, and LOVED them all! She even met Mickey, Chip and Dale, Winnie the Pooh, and Tigger! It was so great!

When life gives you lemons

Well, my life has certainly taken a drastic change over the last week. Matthew and myself have become "parents" to a 18 year old boy. Thats right. We always said we wanted to foster children, and eventually adopt....I just didn't think it would be this soon or for a kid this old.
Ryan, is a neighbor kid of ours that was in desperate need of some help. I guess that is why we are still in Las Vegas. We have been praying for months for our move to Utah to happen. The Lord knows whats best for us. I have spent this week trying to get Ryan set up in our house. I took him for a haircut, bought him clothes, and tried getting him signed up for school. He hasn't been in High School since middle of his Jr. year!!
Life in the Tripp house is quite different from a week ago. I just hope we can do our best for him, and mold him into a great young man.

Happy New Year!

I can't believe it is 2009 already! So much has happened for us this last year, and it seems like yesterday 2008 was starting.

I really look forward to this year. I have a few goals that I would like to accomplish this year, I won't say resolutions because those are never kept.

In no particular order; we are getting out of debt and staying out this year! My dream is to only have a house payment, no credit cards, no car payments. Believe me the house is enough!

I feel very strongly that I need to get going on food storage. Truth, I don't think we have enough to even last a week! Scary!

This year I am going to become more active with church. I love the gospel, I know it's true, get off my butt and go!! Along with that I have already started reading the scriptures every night, I want to continue that.

I have got to get my sctapbooking caught up this year!

Lastly. I want to work on being a better friend, neighbor, daughter, sister, mother, and wife. Pretty much a better person all around!

Sorrry for the ramble I knew if I actually wrote this down it would remind me of what I want this year.

Happy New Year to all!!!

Subject: Matts Christmas Present

So for the last three years Matt and I have not exchanged Christmas presents. We both felt that it's more important to buy for all the kids in our life than eachother. But, every year I have still tried to at least do a stocking for him. This year we once again said we were not going to exchange. But, I had a surprise planned.

Lately I have been clipping coupons and one of them I found was for sears portraits. For only $4.95 I got 45 shots!!!!! And no sitting fee. So knowing that Matt was going to be out of town last week I scheduled Kori and me to go get some pictures done together. I found the most perfect little shirt for her, it read " Result of Mommy Kissing Santa". Friday morning I got both of us all ready, picked up my mom and we went. It was so much fun!!! The pictures turned out great and I can't wait to give them to Matt. I was even doing really well at not telling him. I just wish everyone else had done as well also.

Sunday my mom and step- father came over. Shane let the cat out of the bag, and Mom didn't help!!!! So ofcourse now I'm sure he knows. Although he is being really sweet and acting as though he didn't hear. Oh well at least the actual pictures will be a surprise!

This is Kori before we took the pictures, I love this outfit!!
